They are unhappy that the media pays too much attention to the wardrobe of the Princess of Wales.
Kensington Palace has banned staff from revealing details about Kate Middleton's outfits. Kensington Palace officials have begun refusing to give details about Kate's outfits due to dissatisfaction with so much media attention being paid to what she wears. The Daily Express writes about this.
Until recently, the palace always responded to journalists' requests and reported all the details of the Princess of Wales' outfit for each official event. The exception was made only on the most prosaic occasions, when Kate visited farms, sporting events, or parks and wore something not worthy of special attention. Also, details about the outfits of the late Queen Elizabeth, and about the clothes of the Duchess Camilla, the wife of the current king, were always reported.
But now, as journalists write, such information will be denied, unless it is an extremely important and glamorous event. For example, a movie premiere, a government event, or a foreign visit where Kate “uses fashion diplomacy” by wearing pieces made in the host country.
Some of the outfits worn by the late Queen, or Princess Diana, became centerpieces of palace exhibitions that drew the public to paid visits to royal residences.
Kate's aides say fashion experts are usually quick to identify designers, but they will no longer officially confirm or deny the details.
So, during a visit to the children's center in Hillingdon, the Princess of Wales is believed to have worn a knitted dress for 35 pounds from Mango and a Hobbs coat for 359 pounds. But the stamps chosen by the princess were reported by the journalists themselves, without the participation of the palace.
The Princess of Wales is known for her manner of mixing expensive and democratic brands. And the latter usually sell out quickly the moment she wears them.
