The King's son and an American actress became Dukes of Sussex on their wedding day in May 2018.
King Charles III intends to deprive the titles of his son Prince Harry and his wife Meghan Markle. This is reported by Express.
Royal expert Tom Baver notes that the reason for the harsh decision of the monarch was the new scandalous memoirs of the Duke of Sussex about the British royal family. And if there is any information in the published book that will harm the reputation of the monarchy, King Charles III will deprive his son and his wife of the titles of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, which they received after their wedding in May 2018.
“All King Charles can really do is keep the titles for his grandsons Archie and Lilibet. After all, I think he could also take the titles away from Harry and Meghan, but that’s pretty drastic… If things are as bad as I am I think Harry and Meghan have become real outcasts. The best thing a family can do is cut ties with them,” the expert notes.
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle stepped down from their royal duties at the beginning of 2020 and moved to the United States. Despite this, the couple retained the titles of dukes. Their children, Archie and Lilibet, after the death of Queen Elizabeth II in September 2022, automatically became a prince and princess, but the newly-minted king of Great Britain did not officially confirm the changes.
