Gallery Night or when the arts take over the streets of Old Quebec

The Night of the Galleries takes place in the areas of Petit-Champlain, Place Royale and the Old Port of Quebec.

For one evening, thousands of luminous cups – the event passes – will animate the historic sectors of Québec. Visitors will be able to meet works, gallery owners and artists during the Nuit des Galeries, on Saturday September 17, from 3 p.m. to 11 p.m.

In the streets of Petit-Champlain, Place Royale and the Old Port of Quebec, the 1.2 km route will be embellished with seven outdoor bars. Musical entertainment and several live visual arts performances are also on the menu.

Several art galleries and artisan shops open their doors every Saturday in September.

The event extends to Place de Paris with the ;Espace Gourmet, where visitors can taste creations from several local restaurateurs.

For its return after two years of pandemic, the Nuit des Galeries is adding a new champagne and a loan -to-drink.

The presale for the luminous cup, necessary to consume on the spot, ends on September 15. They are recycled from one year to the next for the sake of eco-responsibility.

A drink by hand, visitors meet works, gallery owners and artists.

Entry to the event venue is free.

This will be the case every Saturday in September with the Month of Galleries. From 12 p.m. to 6 p.m., visitors can explore art galleries and artisan shops and experience art in all its forms.

However, the consumption of alcohol in the streets or in the galleries will only be done during the Nuit des Galeries.

Launched during the pandemic, the initiative was intended as a way of encouraging the public to reclaim part of Old Quebec.
