Lady Di's wrath. How Princess Diana treated Camilla Parker Bowles

The former wife of Prince Charles was sure that he was cheating on her.

August 31 marks the 25th anniversary of the tragic death of one of the most amazing women in the history of the British royal family, Princess Diana. The public loved her for her openness, sincerity and humanism. Princess Diana was an example for many, although, as you know, she herself had a lot of problems in her personal life.

Focus remembers how the relationship between Lady Di and her rival Camilla Parker- Bowles, who soon after the tragic death of Diana became the wife of Prince Charles.

Lady Diana Spencer and ex-husband Prince Charles were not happily married. Although their magical wedding in 1981 made fans think that the royal couple had the perfect union. Soon their two sons were born. But over time, it became clear that the couple did not get along with each other, and Prince Charles was cheating on Princess Diana with Camilla Parker-Bowles, his ex-girlfriend, whom he met in the 1970s. At least that's what the media said at the time. Princess Diana herself contributed to the spread of rumors, who in 1995 in a high-profile interview for Panorama stated that Prince Charles was unfaithful to her.

“Well, there were three of us in this marriage, so it was a little crowded,” she claimed Diana.

However, her statements were not unfounded. As it turned out, once Lady Di personally caught Camilla Parker-Bowles and Prince Charles at one of the parties hosted by Camilla's sister. Daily mirror writes about it. Everyone present was amazed that Diana came to that meeting.

As former Royal Guard officer Ken Whorf recalled, the Princess of Wales had no friends at that party, and when they arrived, everything looked like a freeze frame from a movie – the guests froze at the sight of Lady Dee. She was looking for a husband.

“Within an hour, I heard my name being called while I was in the kitchen somewhere. I went out and there was Diana, who said, 'You have to come with me, I can't find my husband or Camilla.' Of course, I could not refuse, it is obvious that this woman was under great stress, and in the end we found that the prince and Camilla were sitting on a sofa in the basement of this house and just talking, “the former officer recalled.

According to Whorf, Diana approached Prince Charles and Camilla, who were sitting on the couch, and loudly said: “Please don't treat me like an idiot, I know what's going on.”

In response to this, Mrs. Parker-Bowles said some rather strange words.

“Well, you know, you have two wonderful boys,” she said.

Whorf believes that this was a moment of truth for everyone, which determined that the end of the marriage of Princess Diana and Prince Charles was near. In 1992, they officially announced their separation, and four years later they divorced in 1996.

A year after the divorce, Princess Diana died in a car accident at the age of 36. Charles married Camilla Parker-Bowles. And on the day of the 70th anniversary of her reign, Elizabeth II expressed her hope that the nation, when the time comes, will accept her daughter-in-law as a future queen consort.
