At the beginning of the fall, Jean-Luc Gibelin, Vice-President of the Region in charge of transport, looked dejected regarding the progress of the project to re-open the Alès-Bessèges railway line, which had been undermined by water flow issues raised by government departments. A situation that the elected official also recalled on December 17 to the members of the Collective for the Alès-Bessèges railway line that he received. And, according to the latter, “impossible, under these conditions, to have the slightest guarantee on the date of commissioning, despite the good words of the Region, those of the sub-prefecture…” (already postponed to 2028, Editor's note).

They campaign for compliance with the master schedule

Consequently, at the beginning of this year 2025, the said collective is making wishes. Two wishes, in this case: “That the residents of the Cèze Valley be considered as normal citizens and not second-class. To do this, let's stop piling up standards; let's stick to those in force at the time the project was developed and completed” . And “that the declarations made very recently, after the government's twists and turns, on the preservation of the budgets allocated to this line be confirmed and guarantee compliance with the master schedule” . Pious wishes expressed in the north of Gard ?
