A French fashion house inspired by the Alexandre III bridge in Paris has opened in Beverly Hills.
French fashion house Dior has opened a new pop-up in Los Angeles inspired by the Alexandre III bridge in Paris. As you know, against the background of his copy, the show of the autumn collection 2022 was held. Hypebeast writes about this.
The store is located on Rodeo Drive. Inside, the pop-up is adorned with many Art Nouveau lampposts and pictures of scenic views of Paris. In the hall, you can see a 3D-printed gold sculpture of Pegasus, exclusive to Rodeo Drive.
Along with ready-to-wear clothes, the popular Dior Birkenstock collaboration was also presented at the show.
Recently < em>Focus wrote that Chinese students in Toronto and Paris took to the streets to protest against the cultural appropriation that Dior is accused of. According to the protesters, the French fashion house appropriated the traditional Chinese Ming skirt mǎmiànqún (“skirt with a hundred pleats”). In the new fall 2022 collection, the product is presented as a unique invention of Dior.
Chinese students are outraged that the fashion house did not mention traditional clothing and demand that the representatives of the brand apologize and inform their fans about the origin of their new skirt design.
