The President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko presented several variants of the amended Constitution, however, according to him, the changes were not strong enough.
It is reported BelTA.
“The Constitution Is The Basic Law. We’ll do it in two years. Several options I have proposed – they are not suitable. People are just afraid to make more drastic changes to the Constitution. I think we need it to do. Prior to the adoption of the Constitution we actually do a lot in terms of subsidiarity to the presidents of Executive committees, the Governor,” – said Lukashenko.
At the same time, Alexander Lukashenko is convinced that a return to the Constitution of 1994 is a backward movement. He noted that in 1990-e years were not the best in the country.
“I don’t want to return to those times, don’t want you to go back there, as if there is some “alternative” would be offered: “We need to go back to 1994 and revive the Constitution.” Maybe someone wants to return, let him return, just not necessary to talk about reform and moving forward, if we the people are back,” he explained.
We will remind, now in Russia is voting on amendments to the Constitution of the country.
The law on amendment to the Constitution, allowing Putin to be re-elected to the presidency several times, was signed by Putin. Before it was adopted by the Council of the Federation and agreed on two-thirds of the Russian regions.
We will remind, in January of this year, Russian President Vladimir Putin submitted to the state Duma a bill on amendments to the Constitution of Russia.
