Manon Massé hopes for a breakthrough for Québec solidaire in the region

Manon Massé took advantage of her visit to Saguenay to invite Québec solidaire activists to play pétanque.

A few months before the elections, the co-spokesperson for Québec solidaire, Manon Massé, is visiting Saguenay–Lac-Saint-Jean for a few days.

Saturday, the Indigenous Affairs Critic first attended the 16th edition of the Grand Gathering of First Nations in Mashteuiatsh.

The MP for Sainte-Marie–Saint-Jacques then invited party activists to a petanque tournament at the Bar à Pitons on Sunday. Asked what issue she wants to point to during the election campaign, Manon Massé targeted the environment.

“I want to highlight the ecological transition, because it is the challenge of the century. Will that be the ballot box question? Maybe not. But today, it is clear that climate change affects us with floods and drought. »

The candidate of Québec solidaire in the riding of Chicoutimi Adrien Guibert-Barthez was obviously in the game. Although the party made inroads in certain regions of Quebec in the last election, this is not the case in Saguenay–Lac-Saint-Jean.

A guy like Adrien, it's is a game-changer here. He is able to hold his own. He is a separatist. Maybe people are wondering which party to turn to when talking about independence in Quebec. Well, Quebec solidaire, that's it, insists the member.

Manon Massé says that Québec solidaire has recruited almost all of its candidates in the province for the election on October 3.
