Many shows free in Montreal completely circus

The 7 Doigts will settle in Place Ville Marie.

In addition to indoor shows and 16-meter-tall steel giants that will host high-flying performances, the Montreal Completely Circus Festival will also take place on rue Saint-Denis, in the Latin Quarter, from July 7 to 17. Activities are also planned in seven other Montreal boroughs.

For the occasion, a space has been created on rue Saint-Denis between boulevard de Maisonneuve and rue Sainte-Catherine: Place Pasteur. Acrobats will perform there every day between 5:30 p.m. and 11 p.m. In the press release, we warn that anything can happen. It is specified that a picnic table could become a stage or a wire could be transformed into an improvised track.

A temporary bar, Cirque'Easy, is also there installed. People are encouraged to sit down there to sip a drink and be surprised by an unexpected acrobatic performance.

Place Pasteur is a space created on rue Saint-Denis between boulevard de Maisonneuve and rue Sainte-Catherine.

In the same square, a route will allow young people and adults to try trapeze and trampoline.

Rue Saint-Denis, between Sherbrooke and de Maisonneuve, more than thirty performances are planned every day, spread over four specially equipped locations. The large table is a stage in the form of a table, the Émery arch will serve as a support for aerial circus performances, the track at the bottom of the hill will be reserved for clown arts, while the Saint-Denis track, located opposite the theater of the same name, will host more conceptual performances.

In addition to Ville-Marie, six Montreal boroughs will host circus performances: Rivière-des-Prairies–Pointe-aux-Trembles, Verdun, Saint -Léonard, Saint-Laurent, Anjou and Outremont.

Two European troupes will take to the stage at the Théâtre de Verdure in Parc La Fontaine, which has just reopened in Le Plateau-Mont-Royal after 8 years of work. On July 8, the French troupe Art Move Concept will perform Exit, and on July 13, the Italian troupe Compagnia Blucinque will perform Vertigine di Giulietta.

Circus artists from Montreal will present the Carnaval de cirque social, on July 10, on rue Émery in the Latin Quarter. This event will highlight young people who participate in Cirque Hors Piste, an organization that allows young people with a marginalized life course to express themselves through circus arts.

This free outdoor programming is added to the two daily performances given by Cirque Éloize, Les 7 Doigts and Machine de Cirque on the three giants installed in the Jardins Gamelin, Esplanade PVM and Parc Vinet, near the Atwater market.

Several other paid shows announced last May will also be held at TOHU.
