Marie-Thérèse Séverac and Nicolas Triol honored for their commitment

Two Lunellois were honored on their land. This Saturday, January 25, on the occasion of its general assembly which, for once, was held in the Pescalune city and even in the aptly named Trophy Room, the departmental committee for youth, sports and community involvement honored Marie-Thérèse Séverac, president of the Dynamique Lunelloise merchants' association, and the former president of the French Federation of Camargue Races Nicolas Triol.

Reports unanimously approved

Both received, from the hands of the outgoing president of the committee, Monique Agugliaro, and Liliane Domergue, president of the Lozère committee, the ministerial bronze medal rewarding their community involvement for many years.
Previously, the committee's general meeting had taken a much more traditional form. A meeting during which all the reports were unanimously approved but which mainly aimed to renew the steering committee and its 20 members.
Only nineteen candidates presented themselves and all were therefore elected.

Gérard Tugas new president of the committee

In the process, as the outgoing president Monique Agugliaro was not standing again, the committee appointed its new president. This is Gérard Tugas. Before leaving her position, Monique Agugliaro was able to highlight a solid record. In terms of members, the committee has grown from 149 to 166 members in 4 years and has recovered after falling to 123 during the Covid pandemic. The outgoing team is also behind 3 new challenges rewarding young jousters, raseteurs and referees, both girls and boys. For the past 3 years, young volunteers involved in a non-sporting association have also been rewarded. It should be noted that Monique Agugliaro remains on the committee, like 9 other members, and the governing body welcomes 9 new members.
A renewed body and volunteers whose actions were highly praised by the deputy for sports Laurent Grasset. The elected official recalled that “without this commitment from volunteers, many citizens would not be able to live their passion”.
