Mario Kart 8Deluxe will offer eight downloadable tracks in August

The Cité sorbet circuit is a new creation from Nintendo.

Nintendo announced on Thursday that eight tracks, including a new original creation – Sorbet City – will be added to its popular Mario Kart 8 Deluxe game as paid downloadable content starting next August 4.

These tracks were unveiled in a trailer that first offers a glimpse of Cité sorbet, a radiant tableau of neon colors dotted with cones, lollipops and ice creams of all kinds.

The other seven tracks are remastered versions for the Wii U console, previously seen on Super NES, Game Boy Advance, Nintendo 64, Nintendo DS, Wii or mobile versions of Mario Kart.

These are Mario Circuit 3, New York Getaway, Kalimari Desert, Waluigi Flipper, Sydney Sprint, Snowy Country, and Mushroom Gorge, which are split into the new Turnip and Chopper cups.

This content is included in the second of six waves of tracks – for a total of 48 – that Nintendo will roll out by the end of 2023. They will be downloadable at way of the Additional Circuits Pass, which can be obtained for $32.99 or by purchasing a Nintendo Switch Online subscription with an additional set.

Released in 2017, Mario Kart 8 Deluxe is an upgraded version of Mario Kart 8, released three years earlier. Both versions combined have sold some 50 million copies worldwide.
