This was one of the most anticipated trailers of this 2022 edition of Comic-Con: Marvel finally shows footage of Black Panther: Wakanda Forever.

Until Here, the journey that led to the making of Black Panther 2looks like a real Stations of the Cross. Announced with great fanfare at the last edition of Comic-Con – it was in 2019 – the film first lost its main interpreter, actor Chadwick Boseman, who died prematurely of cancer (which Marvel learned about). late existence). Pre-production was then delayed due to health restrictions… Then, actress Letitia Wright (who is taking over the Black Panther costume) was injured on set… And finally, when resuming the filming, cases of Covid put a new stop. First announced for the month of May 2022, filming was completed at the end of March. Black Panther: Wakanda Forever will finally be released on November 9, 2022.

The misadventures of Ryan Coogler and his team seem behind us: a first trailer was unveiled at Comic-Con 2022.

In this 2-minute video, to the sound of a remix of No woman, no cry, by Bob Marley, the trailer hints at the beginning of the narrative framework for this last feature film of Phase 4 of the MCU. The emotional opening scenes turn the page on T'Challa by introducing a new heroine – Shuri. All the ingredients that made the success of the first part are there: the lush settings of Wakanda, the political subtext of the film and of course, the nods to African culture (or at least to the culture Africa, as seen from the United States).

The trailer also shows stunning waterscapes, giving credence to a persistent rumor : the antagonist of the film will certainly be Namor, the Prince of the Seas (played by Tenoch Huerta), a major antihero of Marvel comics. Verdict before the fall.

This trailer isn't the only surprise unveiled at San Diego Comic-Con… Shazam! 2 and Black Adam at DC, or even the trailer for the Amazon series The Lord of the Rings, and then there are those that nobody had really anticipated. Marvel made a big move by officially formalizing Avengers: The Kang Dynasty and Avengers: Secret Wars.
