Guardians of the Galaxy is returning soon for a third and final film within the MCU. We now know the name of the main antagonist of the feature film.
A few months ago, we wondered what Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 might well recount after Thanos' eradication and Gamora's escape. We were drawing a parallel to the comics, raising the possibility that the eccentric Evolutionary is looking to make himself The Guardians. What is it exactly?
And the rumors are confirmed! Indeed, it is indeed the actor Chukwudi Iwuji (announced at the casting last January, in a role unknown until now) who will interpret the Master of Evolution. He will face Rocket, Groot, Gamora (Zoe Saldana), Drax (Dave Bautista), Nebula (Karen Gillan), Mantis (Pom Klementieff) and, of course, Captain Star-Lord (Chris Pratt). The news was made official by Kevin Feige and Iwuji himself, in costume, on stage at San Diego Comic-Con.

“Chukwudi Iwuji, from Guardians of the Galaxy Volume 3, appeared in his Evolutionary costume and interrupted the Marvel Studios panel at Comic-Con.”
In the comics, the High Evolutionary is a scientist obsessed with his work on genetic mutations. Her story is closely linked to that of Rocket (which should also be the case in the film adaptation) but also to Wanda Maximoff aka Scarlet Witch. At the time, some believed that he could make an appearance in WandaVision… In the end it did not happen, but it is not excluded that he will take more and more more importance in future MCU films.
At Comic-Con, Marvel formalized many upcoming projects for the universe Marvel…including a new Captain America and two new Avengers movies due in 2025 (yes, both, six months apart).
