Marvel formalizes Avengers 5 and 6 at Comic-Con (but not for now)

Since the release of Endgame and the farewell of the first generation of Avengers, we wondered what the future of the “brand” Avengers. Marvel answered these questions at Comic-Con.

Among the surprises of this fifty-sixth edition of San Diego Comic-Con, we will finally find nothing about Superman and Henry Cavill (despite the increasingly relayed rumors of a return of the DC hero).Marvel, on the other hand, made an impression by presenting two new stamped films Avengers … And that nobody expected.

Avengers 5 and 6 will therefore take place and besides, they already have a logo, a title… and a release date! The first one will be called Avengers: The Kang Dynasty and is scheduled for release on May 2, 2025, while the next one, Avengers: Secret Wars is due just a few months later ( for November 7, 2025). This is enough to shed light on the future of the Marvel universe as Phase 4 is nearing its end (Black Panther: Wakanda Forever will normally be the last feature film of the phase). But then, what exactly do we know about these new Avengers?

Already, their composition. It's a safe bet that Doctor Strange (played by Benedict Cumberbatch), Captain Marvel (Brie Larson), Sam Wilson (Anthony Mackie) and Shuri (Letitia Wright) will be there… as well as some “newbies” like Shang-Chi (Simu Liu) or Moon Knight (Oscar Isaac). Side antagonists now: who to succeed the terrifying Thanos? According to the title of the fifth installment of Avengers, it should be Kang the Conqueror (Jonathan Majors), who appeared for the first time in the series and Lokiand main antagonist of Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania, due out in 2023.

Finally, this surprise announcement from the part of Marvel allows to specify the schedule of the MCU: phase 4 will indeed end at the turn of the year 2023. Ant-Man and the Wasp will inaugurate Phase 5, which will also include < strong>The Marvels, Blade, Guardians of the Galaxy 3 and of course… a new Captain America. Announced for 2025, the two new Avengers will be part of Phase 6. Hopefully the wait allows them to break the Endgame record, one of the biggest successes in the history of cinema.
