Marvel: Guardians of the Galaxy 3 will be the longest film in the franchise

As you might expect, director James Gunn has confirmed that Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 will be longer than Marvel's previous two installments.

After their pointless antics in the latest Thor: Love and Thunder, the Guardians of the Galaxy will return at the end of the year for a special episode on Disney + before returning to the poster one last time in a third installment which promises to be particularly busy. Between the expected reunion between Star Lord (Chris Pratt) and Gamorra (Zoe Saldana), the introduction of Adam Warlock (Will Poulter), the confrontation against the Evolutionary played by Chukwudi Iwuji and the probable dissolution of the team, it was almost certain that Guardians of the Galaxy Vol.3 would be longer than the other two films in the trilogy and even most of the Expanded Universe feature films.

One Last Tour of the Galaxy for Guardians

During an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, director and screenwriter James Gunn confirmed that the band's next adventures will stretch further: “It's a much bigger film than the other two. and much more emotional. It's also a longer film than the other two. It's bigger in every way.

The exact duration has not been specified, but it will exceed 2h17 of Guardians 2. The film will then be longer than the previous Thor 4 (1h59), Doctor Strange 2 (2h06), Shang-Chi (2h12) and Black Widow (2:14). If it should logically be closer to the almost 2h30 of Spider-Man: No Way Home and Captain America: Civil War, we not yet sure if it will be longer than The Eternals or Infinity Wars (2:37 and 2:36).

The new superhero team went into overtime

With three hours on the clock, Avengers: Endgame is guaranteed to remain the longest movie in the Expanded Universe for quite a while, even if Avengers: The Kang Dynasty< /strong> and Avengers: Secret Wars scheduled for 2025 could break the record. Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 will be released in France at the cinema on May 3, 2023, with the next MCU release being Black Panther: Wakanda Forever on November 9, 2022.
