Marvel: Thor takes on Christian Bale villain in new Love and Thunder teaser
Marvel has unveiled a new teaser for the upcoming Thor: Love and Thunder in which Chris Hemsworth's god crosses swords with Christian Bale's villain.
After Black Widow, Spider-Man: No Way Homeand Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, Phase 4 of the MCU will soon call back its god of thunder in the next strong> Thor: Love and Thunder. The superhero camped by Chris Hemsworth will thus be the first in the extended Marvel universe to go beyond the trilogy – the next Captain America 4 being worn by Anthony Mackie's Sam Wilson and not Steve Rogers by Chris Evans.
The former Asgardian will however have to share the poster with the Guardians of the Galaxy, the leader of New Asgard embodied by Tessa Thompson, his new enemy, Gorr the Butcher of the Gods played by Christian Bale and even his ex-girlfriend Jane Foster (Natalie Portman) who mysteriously inherited Mjolnir. Either a program a priori very dense for a feature film which should not exceed two hours.
Another prestigious name in the Marvel stable
The film, still directed and co-written by Taika Waititi, will hit theaters next month. Marvel has therefore stepped up its promotional campaign with a new teaser that givesa better overview of the fighting scenes, in particular the one taking place a priori in the arena of Russel Crowe's Zeus.
As usual, Marvel reveals more than necessary, but the mystery as to the future of the superhero in the MCU remains whole. After having defeated Thanos in Avengers: Endgame, Thor will begin his fitness and a spiritual quest which will be parasitized by the arrival of a new enemy determined to liquidate all the gods of the universe.
The video doesn't really tell us much about the storyline, but teases a bit more of the fight between Gorr and Thor that will unfold presumably on a desolate planet deprived of its colors, thus contrasting with the pop aesthetic and the garish palette of the license.
Thor: Love & Thunder will be released in French cinemas from July 13.
