From the finale of Black Panther to the series She-Hulk: Lawyer which already gives hives with its trailers, Marvel Studios seems increasingly unable to deliver good digital special effects. But isn't this ultimately indicative of the overall state of VFX in Hollywood?
While testimonials flourish on Reddit and in the American press, visual effects companies point the finger at horrible production methods. The overuse of the Marvel brand and its many projects are particularly representative of this problem, forcing teams to work (too) long hours, including on scenes that are sometimes retaken at the last minute.
