Shortly after, the central load-bearing wall collapsed, taking the entire structure with it. Faced with the situation, the town hall had to secure the premises and issue a decree imminent danger.

The 51-year-old owner was hoping to move into the house next summer, according to Le Progrès. But the mayor of L'Arbresle, who came to see the damage, believes that the house will probably have to be razed. The file is now in the hands insurers.
