The Duchess of Sussex invites Sophie Trudeau, wife of the Prime Minister of Canada, to her Spotify podcast
Meghan Markle and Canadian First Lady Sophie Trudeau talk about motherhood in a new episode of the Archetypes podcast. It turned out that Meghan and Sophie became friends even before Markle met Prince Harry. The Daily Mail writes about this.
Meghan Markle said that recently Sophie Trudeau, wife of Justin Trudeau, Prime Minister of Canada, was visiting her at her Montecito mansion and they had a great time: drinking wine and swam in the pool.
She said that on the terrace there was a “quiet whisper of girls talking, dizzy, like real schoolgirls. We had so much fun.” Megan even revealed that she bought an air mattress shaped like a slice of pizza for guests.
But then Sophie and Meghan began to discuss more serious things and the Duchess of Sussex admitted that when she was preparing for the British citizenship test after meeting Prince Harry, it turned out that he did not know the answers to many questions. She asked for his help because the questions were too difficult, but the prince could not help her.
Meghan needed to take a Life in the UK test before applying for citizenship and it costs £50 to try. The test asks questions about the laws and legal system of the UK, work in the country, its culture and other details. It may also contain questions about the British royal family, of which she remains a member.
Sophie and Meghan discussed the “crushing guilt” of trying to juggle motherhood, work and social life.
< p>Megan described Sophie as a “humanitarian mother”.
“Sophie has become a true friend and a symbol of strength for me,” Megan admitted and said that she tries to follow some family rituals.
For example, every morning, she and Prince Harry start the day by taking care of their children and dogs. They prepare lunch boxes for the kids, feed the dogs, and make sure to have breakfast for the whole family.
Sophie and Megan are very close. Back in January 2020, journalists suggested that it was Justin Trudeau who prompted the dukes to leave the royal family.
