It turned out that even now Doria Ragland calls her daughter “her flower”.
41- Year-old Meghan Markle has revealed the cute childhood nickname her mother Doria Ragland still calls her. The Daily Mail writes about this.
In her Archetypes podcast, while discussing the importance of nicknames with actress Michaela J. Rodriguez, the Duchess of Sussex admitted that her mother still calls her “her little flower”.
Meghan revealed that she really likes the nickname .
But Michaela noted that often childhood nicknames affect the lives of adults, especially if they are not too pleasant.
“You make up nicknames as a kid, but you don't know what effect they have on other people,” she said.
“My mom used to call me Bumper when I was a kid, she still for the time being, and calls me that today. But it's even cute, “said the actress.
Megan interjected with a chuckle:” Yes, that's right. My mother still calls me Flower. And I like it. I'll be my mom's 41-year-old flower.”
Markle's nickname was first mentioned by her uncle Joseph Johnson back in 2019. He talked about the day Doria found out that Meghan was engaged to Prince Harry.
“We were all just very, very stunned and shocked. Especially Doria. She was so excited. She just said : “My little flower! How can this be true? My little flower will be a princess!” Uncle Markle said.
