Unexpectedly, Mena Suvari has revealed her past with drugs and her story is absolutely heartbreaking.
As we learned yesterday of Bob Odenkirk’s emergency hospitalization after he collapsed on the set of Better Call Saul, it’s today Mena Suvari that makes the headlines. Indeed, the unforgettable interpreter of Heather in the franchise American pie revealed in his memoirs ‘The Great Peace’ his drug addiction following a rape at the age of 12 by one of his brother’s friends: “I’ve never been well again. It’s strange when I question myself, when I want to choose the word ‘rape’ because I didn’t end up in the hospital. I didn’t stay unconscious. But isn’t it just because I’ve said ‘no’ enough? ”

After this terrible event, Mena Suvari says she turned to drugs to try to forget : “I took drugs to numb me from the pain. Alcohol. Cannabis. Methamphetamine. Acid. Ecstasy. Mushrooms. Mescaline” to the point of affecting her teenage life: “It took control over my life. The hours I was in school were spent thinking about getting out and doing a few lines (of cocaine , editor’s note) (…) I took out my little mirror and I sniffed a line in the school toilets during a break “. A testimony as difficult as it is unexpected. Today, Mena is a happy woman and welcomed her first child with her husband Michael Hope in April 2021.
