Spotify is launching a new program, EQUAL, aimed at showcasing female artists from around the world. We tell you more about it here.
We announced it to you a few days ago, Martin Garrix is joining forces with the U2 group for the Euro 2020 anthem, it promises! But today we would like to tell you about the new EQUAL program that Spotify has just launched. The streaming service has decided to strengthen its commitment to gender equality in the music industry by launching an international program dedicated to supporting female artists around the world. : “With the EQUAL program, we are committed to giving more visibility to female artists over time. As the world’s leading streaming platform, we have a responsibility and a role to play in building a more equal sector for female creators “ explains Julie Béhérec, Artist & Label Partnerships Manager of Spotify France.

And with this program, Spotify decided to highlight a French rapper, Meryl : “For the first EQUAL playlist in France, we have chosen to honor the rapper Meryl. She is an exceptional young artist, who is working together to find her place in a musical genre generally dominated by men”. Meryl was then surprised to see himself projected on a large screen in Times Square, New York, as we can see in his Instagram post that we share with you just above. A very nice initiative! And for rap fans, we invite you to discover the clip of “DLB 13” de Soso Maness.
