In the final, she was only beaten by the American Gretchen Walsh, untouchable since her arrival in Hungary, and victorious in 24.01 seconds.
The other Frenchwoman entered in the final, Mélanie Henique, finished sixth in 24.89 seconds. More of a crawl specialist, Gastaldello also qualified for the 100m freestyle final on Wednesday, after achieving the second time in the semi-finals.
