Motorola cancels the launch of the Razr 2022 foldable phone at the last minute

< p class="sc-v64krj-0 knjbxw">Motorola was to unveil its new foldable smartphone on August 2.

Motorola had planned to unveil two new smartphones, the foldable Razr 2022 and the X30 Pro on Tuesday in China, but nothing happened: the organization canceled the event a few hours before it kicked off.

Motorola and Lenovo Mobile general manager Chen Jin first made the announcement on Chinese microblogging site Weibo, saying the event was canceled for some reason. The news was later confirmed by a message from Motorola's official account posted on the same website.

We apologize for this, and thank you for your enthusiasm for the new products from Motorola. For information on new products, you can check Motorola's official information platform, the note says, translated by the specialized site Mashable through software.

The company had poured a lot of money into promoting the event, unveiling several previews of the devices that were to be unveiled. No trace of the Razr 2022 and X30 Pro phones was found on Motorola's site.

The last-minute cancellation comes amid growing tensions between China and Taiwan, and as U.S. House of Representatives Speaker Nancy Pelosi is visiting Taiwan.

Motorola hasn't said whether it plans to postpone the event .
