American booster Atlas V with an interplanetary station “Mars-2020” was successfully launched from Cape Canaveral in Florida. In the framework of this mission, NASA hopes to deliver to Mars a Rover, which should land at the crater Jezero to the North of the Martian equator. In NASA believe that there once could be a river Delta, and therefore, it is possible to detect traces of organic molecules. Actually finding life on Mars has become one of the main objectives of the mission.
Planting should take place in mid-February, and the entire program is scheduled for at least two years. In addition to the search for life, the Rover would collect soil samples to send to Earth. It is expected that the research complex will allow to shed light on the geological past of the planet.
