The Alliance is cooperating with defense companies and thereby contributes to the transfer of more weapons to Kyiv, said Jens Stoltenberg.
NATO is working closely with defense companies to provide Ukraine with even more weapons and equipment. This was stated by NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg during his speech in Norway, Reuters reports on Thursday, August 4.
“We provide a lot of support, but we need to do more and be ready for long-term measures. We are now in close contact and working closely with the defense industry to produce and supply more different types of ammunition, weapons and capabilities,” he said.
According to him, Russia's invasion of Ukraine has created the most dangerous situation for Europe since World War II. He also added that Russia cannot be allowed to win.
The Alliance Secretary General also accused Russian President Vladimir Putin of “reckless and dangerous” rhetoric regarding the potential use of nuclear weapons.
Stoltenberg also expressed the opinion that that the war is likely to end only after negotiations.
“We know that most wars end at the negotiating table. We also know that the outcome of these negotiations will depend entirely on strength on the battlefield,” he said .
Recall, according to the NATO Secretary General, in the war between Russia and Ukraine, the Alliance has two tasks: to support Ukraine and prevent the conflict from spreading into a full-scale war between NATO and Russia.
Earlier it was reported that Ukraine has become a member of the program of cooperation between the armies of NATO countries.
