Nearly a quarter of voters in Mauricie and Centre-du-Québec have already voted | É Quebec 2022 elections

About 1.4 million people have already exercised their right to vote in the province (archives).

About 25% of registered voters of Mauricie and Centre-du-Québec took advantage of the advance polling period to go to the polls, which is slightly more than in the province as a whole.

Elections Quebec announced Tuesday that the turnout rate is close to 23% in Quebec, which represents an increase of approximately five percentage points compared to the last provincial elections.

En Mauricie, the average participation rate in advance polls is 26.1%, while it is 22.9% in Centre-du-Québec.

It was in the ridings of Trois-Rivières, in Mauricie, and Arthabaska, in Centre-du-Québec, that advance voting was the most popular with a rate around 28%.

Johnson voters had the least enthusiasm for early voting (18%). The electoral division of Nicolet-Bécancour follows closely with a turnout of 21%.

The turnout is particularly high in the Quebec region, with turnout rates above 30% in several ridings, notably in Louis- Hébert (39.5%), which was held by caquiste Geneviève Guilbault at the start of the election campaign.

Advance voting took place on September 25 and 26, 2022. It is still possible to go and vote before the general election on October 3 at the office of your returning officer until Thursday evening.

Next Monday, the polls will be open from 9:30 a.m. to 8 p.m.

About 1.4 million people have already exercised their right to vote in the province.
