Cancel “pandemic” time limit on “non-essential” (not related to professional activity or with the greatest need. — Ed.) travel to the EU under the optimistic scenario could take place at the end of 2020. This was during a virtual hearing of the Committee of the European Parliament said the Executive Director of EU border Agency Frontex Fabrice of Legere. We will remind, the Ukrainian foreign Ministry recommended citizens to advance to check the possibility of entry to a particular country and offered options.
As UKRINFORM reported, on the least optimistic scenario, the restrictions can continue for 2021.
Currently, Frontex is preparing to expand a network of relations with third countries, in particular, Ukraine is planning to send a liaison officer (in the framework of the implementation of the regional mandate in respect of the countries of “Eastern partnership”).
Recall, the European Union since July 1, commenced the gradual opening of the external borders and identified 15 countries whose citizens will be allowed unrestricted entry. The main indicator for the country’s inclusion in the list is the incidence of COVID-19 in such countries (it may not exceed the indicators of the EU member States). At the moment, Ukraine is in the list, that brought a state of emergency at the airport in Greece, where detained 17 of travelers from our country.
