Cynthia Marcotte and her spouse were riding their bikes on Saturday evening when they were hit by a vehicle, in Notre-Dame-de-Lourdes, in Centre-du-Québec.
The accident happened on Highway 265 around 8:30 p.m. The cyclists were traveling north when they were hit by the vehicle traveling in the same direction.
The 29-year-old woman succumbed to her injuries a few hours after arriving at the hospital, while the man suffered serious injuries, but the authorities no longer fear for his life.
A reconstitutionist from the Sûreté du Québec was dispatched to the scene. The investigation is still ongoing.
The causes of the collision are not known at this time.
