The interpreters of Obi-Wan and Darth Vader want to return to their cult characters for the sequel to the Star Wars spin-off series.
The Obi-WanKenobi miniseries airing on Disney+ has already ended. And yes, curtain after six episodes of good and average quality. After a relatively decent closing scene, what can we expect from the mini-series? A season 2? It's not sure yet. But Ewan McGregor and Hayden Christensen, who play Obi-Wan Kenobi and Darth Vader, let it be known in the press that they would like the adventure to continue. May the Force be with them…
“I really hope to do another season [of Obi-Wan Kenobi]. If I could do another one right now and another right after, I would be very happy”, says Ewan McGregor to the British magazine GQ. In the same interview, the actor expressed his happiness to have reunited with his former acting partner, Hayden Christensen, more than seventeen years after the end of the Star Wars. The latter, who plays Darth Vader on screen, has also expressed his desire to take on this mythical role again in a hypothetical season 2 or, why not, in a spin-off series on Darth Vader. There are roles that stick with you, especially under a breathing mask.
Other spin-off series in preparation
If, at the moment, we still don't know if there will be a season 2 of Obi-Wan Kenobi, one thing is certain, Star Wars has not finished expand its already extensive universe into television series. Thus, we will soon find two other spin-off shows from the franchise on Disney+. Namely Andor, which will center on the hero of the film Rogue One – A Star Wars Story camped by Diego Luna. And Ahsoka, another series whose heroine will be the Jedi apprentice of the same name, Anakin Skywalker's padawan during the Clone Wars. Other shows are currently in the Disney pipeline. Star Wars will soon have as many spin-off series as Marvel.
