The identity of the citizens of the Netherlands in the future will not contain the designation of sex because of the “insignificance” of this information. This is stated in the letter from the Minister of education, culture and science, the Netherlands Ingrid van Engelshoven, according to DW.
This parameter will be excluded from identity cards in the years 2024-2025.
According to her, the way the government wants “where it is possible to abandon a non-binding registration sex.” Instead, citizens should “create its own identity and to live in complete freedom and security,” the Minister explained.
As reported, the Parliament of Montenegro of July 1, adopted the “Law on life partnership between persons of the same sex”, which legalized same-sex marriage. Now gay marriages are legal in 30 countries. The first such decision was accepted by the Netherlands in 2000.
