Elena Zelenskaya noted that it was a great honor for her to meet the British monarch.
King Charles visited the Ukrainian Catholic Cathedral in London, on the territory of which the London Ukrainian Welcoming Center is located.
“This is not the first time His Majesty finds time and kind words to support IDPs from Ukraine – he recently visited them in Scotland, even earlier in Romania,” said the First Lady of Ukraine.
Olena Zelenska thanked the British monarch on behalf of all Ukrainians for the assistance that the United Kingdom is and will continue to provide to Ukraine. “Because here in London, at every step, during every meeting, I feel how this support is growing stronger and our friendship is growing stronger,” Zelenskaya said.
“When Russia switched to energy terror tactics, we realized that this winter would be the hardest ever years of independence. Therefore, I am grateful that at least a part of Ukrainians, especially the elderly and children, can wait out the cold season without the risk of being in a blackout,” the first lady wrote, noting the help and support Ukraine receives from the UK: medical equipment, fire trucks and ambulances, equipment for the restoration of infrastructure, in particular, railway and energy, etc.
“Today, meeting with Ukrainian Indians, I am once again convinced that our people were sheltered by friends, whose welcome from the bottom of their hearts,” concluded Olena Zelenska.
