NASA wants to use a steam robot to explore the icy moon that may be home to alien life.
Robot SPARROW uses steam traction to take off from its home base and explore the surface of the ice moon. In particular, it can be used to explore the ocean under the ice of Europe that astrophysics is considered as the most likely place for the existence of life beyond Earth.
The jet propulsion laboratory in Pasadena, notes that researchers are developing a robot the size of a soccer ball, which has the name SPARROW (a steam-propelled robot for ocean worlds). It will use steam traction to jump on the surface of Europa and Enceladus – he will have complete freedom to travel through the inhospitable terrain.
