What is the limit introduced by the Biedronka chain of stores?
According to the information provided by portal “O2”, the chain of shops Biedronka decided to introduce a sales limit for one of the products. From Wednesday, July 20, there will be a limit on the amount of sugar purchased by one customer.
Shortages in stores
In recent days, information has started to flow from various corners of Poland that there are problems with the availability of sugar in Biedronka stores. The discount store, considering the problem, decided to introduce a sugar purchase limit per one receipt. It comes into force on Wednesday, July 20, this year.
From that day on receipt, customers will be able to buy only 10 kg of sugar. This information was provided to the “O2” portal by Marcin Hadaj, the corporate communication manager in the Biedronka network. He added that in recent times many customers have purchased “non-retail quantities” of this particular product, which is caused by a decrease in the quantity of the product on the domestic market.
He reported that the network had analyzed the receipts and it was noticeable that many of the buyers of this product are not individual customers, but entrepreneurs. Hadaj said that such interest of entrepreneurs in sugar from his chain proves how attractive the price of the product is currently offered by the discount.
Not only sugar
The media has recently reported shortages in the availability of many products. In addition to the aforementioned sugar, these include: milk, cream, eggs, oil. “Gazeta Wyborcza” indicates that the problem with the availability of many goods in the Biedronka chain stores (but not only) is due to logistics issues, as well as the lack of staff in the stores themselves.
