Ottawa Police Officer Dies in Highway 7 Car Crash in Perth

Ottawa police officer Drew Nadeau was killed in a car accident on Highway 7 while returning home on Friday.
Drew was just 31 years old . He was an incredible young man who served his community with pride and dedication. He was hired as a police officer in March 2020, after having been a firefighter in the Canadian Army for several years, wrote the Ottawa Police Service (OPS), on its Twitter account.

The crash, between an automobile and a transport truck, occurred around 3:45 a.m. Friday east of Drummond Street in this city located southwest of Ottawa, police said in a series of tweets.
The collision forced the closure of one of the main access routes from Perth, and a primary alternate route to Highway 401, according to the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP).
The truck driver was not injured.
About 11 kilometers of Highway 7 is closed between Lanark Road, also known as County Road 511, and the Drummond Concession 7.
