About sixty demonstrators from the “Dehors la CAQ” movement protested on Saturday afternoon in Rimouski to denounce the management of the pandemic by the Legault government.

They left Matane in late morning and stopped at Amqui then at Mont-Joli to allow around twenty additional vehicles to join the movement. The demonstrators finally arrived in Rimouski around 2 p.m.

The convoy was mainly demonstrating against the health measures, including the vaccination obligation, imposed by the CAQ government during the health crisis.

A dozen vehicles left Matane around 11 a.m. Saturday morning en route to Rimouski.

The organizers invite the population to think before voting on October 3. We are not saying to vote for one or the other. What we are saying is that we are not satisfied with what we have been through. Of course, Dehors la CAQ speaks volumes. It would be our wish, says one of the spokespersons for the demonstration.

“We want things to change in Quebec on October 3rd. »

The protesters also accuse the CAQ of having divided the Quebec population during this period. [We want] Quebecers to be united. […] We are told things, no one answers our questions. It's a question of transparency, adds another participant.

A minute of silence was also observed by the demonstrators in honor of the elderly who died in CHSLDs during the pandemic.

A dozen police officers were present on the spot.
