Partial strike by professionals at Revenu Québec starting Friday

Revenu Québec professionals deplore working conditions that they consider inferior to those of Revenue Canada.

Revenu Québec will be affected by a partial strike by its 5,600 professionals starting Friday.

The Union of Professionals of the Government of Quebec (SPGQ), which represents them, has indicated that it will be an indefinite strike, evening and weekends. Thus, from Monday to Friday, it will start at 6:31 p.m., until 6:59 a.m. the next morning.

These professionals work in a variety of functions, including administration, communications, accounting, audit, collections and investigations, law, appraisal and building, taxation, management, research and strategy, human resources and information technology.

The question of compensation is at the heart of the dispute. These professionals who work at Revenu Québec compare themselves to their colleagues who occupy the same functions at the Canada Revenue Agency and, according to them, they are significantly behind in remuneration.

Conciliation sessions between the parties are still planned, despite the strike.
