Parti Québécois leader Paul St-Pierre Plamondon shook hands Thursday night, including his opponent caquiste and outgoing premier, François Legault.

Parti Québécois leader Paul St-Pierre Plamondon announced on Friday that he was suspending his election campaign activities due to “flu-like symptoms”.

In a message on Twitter, Mr. St-Pierre Plamondon clarified that he had however had negative results for two COVID-19 tests.

For caution, I will isolate myself for the day. I will keep you updated on developments and hope to be back as soon as possible!, he added.

The leader of the PQ will therefore not be able to take part today in the congress of the Quebec Federation of Municipalities, in Montreal, nor in a march for “climate justice”, still in the metropolis.

Paul St-Pierre Plamondon took part in the leaders' debate at the new Maison de Radio-Canada on Thursday evening.

On Twitter, the leader of the Coalition avenir Québec, François Legault, and Québec solidaire co-spokesperson Gabriel Nadeau-Dubois both wished their PQ opponent a speedy recovery. I wish you to get back in shape quickly, added Mr. Legault.

Rest well Paul St-Pierre Plamondon, wrote the leader of the Liberal Party, Dominique Anglade. I hope you will soon get back to the campaign trail.
