Actresses Penélope Cruz and Mikaela Coel, singer Dua Lipa and retired tennis player Roger Federer will co-chair and host the Met Gala. This ball will be dedicated to the work of the German and French fashion designer Karl Lagerfeld, who passed away at the beginning of 2019 at the age of 85.
Celebrities will join the editor-in-chief of the American edition of Vogue, Anna Wintour. It is worth noting that the invitation of Penelope Cruz looks symbolic – the 48-year-old actress has been and remains the ambassador of the Chanel brand, of which Lagerfeld has been creative director since 1983.
It is noted that in the dress code of the Met Gala, guests are recommended to pay honoring the legacy of an iconic designer. So in addition to archival outfits, the stars are already considering outfits of Lagerfeld's personal style: a lot of black and white, hairstyles with a signature ponytail, sunglasses, suits, ties and fingerless gloves.
