
Pickpockets at Igloofest de Québec
For the first time, Quebec welcomes electronic music lovers.
The Quebec City Police Service (SPVQ) is investigating several thefts of cell phones that occurred during the Igloofest event last weekend at Place Jean-Béliveau d& #x27;ExpoCité.
Pickpockets would have taken advantage of the density of the crowd on site to steal the devices from the coat or trouser pockets of the victims.
The Quebec police say they have received several complaints for similar thefts.
The General Crimes Module of the Service de police de la Ville de Québec is seized of the investigation, specifies David Pelletier of the SPVQ.
The police department recommends being discreet and avoiding exposing phones unnecessarily.
The device should also be password protected and configured to lock itself after a short period of time.
The police also recommend installing an application that can locate the device.
- Do not use keep your electronic device away from places where you might be vulnerable;
- Note your device's IMEI number (you can get it by typing: *#06#) and keep it in a safe place;
- Install an application that will allow you to remotely delete or wipe the data included on your device in case of theft or loss;
