Poles' money will be under greater control. The Treasury may receive a new tool

According to the “Interia” portal, the system is to monitor not only accounts belonging to Poles, but also their bank vaults. Work has begun on the project which is to introduce the Financial Information System. This would give the service quite a lot of knowledge about the accounts of Poles. Get to know the details of the planned changes.

Financial Information System

The Financial Information System is to be a fulfillment of the EU directive, which says about the introduction of centralized mechanisms that would enable the identification of all persons who not only have a bank account, but also a deposit account in the territory of the country.

Various types of services would have access to this system, including the prosecutor's office, the police, the court and the treasury. Politicians argue that the introduction of such changes is aimed at preventing such dangerous phenomena as money laundering and subsidizing terrorism.

The project was prepared by the Ministry of Finance. It was approved by the government and went to the Sejm, where it will now be processed. It is not known when the bill will be passed by both houses of Parliament.

The Treasury already has access to our account

It is worth recalling that as of July 1 this year, the amended provisions on the National National Administration came into force. Thanks to them, the heads of tax offices have access to information about taxpayers' bank accounts.

The information available to the tax office is not only information about the bank accounts we have, but also information affecting our account funds, title of payments from which they are made, and their senders.
