The standard Porsche 911 Carrera 4S coupe was taken as the basis for the SUV. They were equipped with special portal axles, as in the Mercedes G-Class 4X4 – this made it possible to increase the ground clearance to 350 mm and install huge tires with lugs.

In addition, sports cars have widened fenders and bevelled bottom bumpers to increase the angles of entry and exit. The bottom received protection, and a trunk appeared on the roof.

Two Porsche 911 'Special Experimental Project' were produced in total. Cars are being tested in Chile on the slopes of the world's highest volcano Ojos del Salado. During the tests, the prototypes rose to a height of 6007 meters above sea level. One of the cars was driven by the famous racing driver Romain Dumas.

This is not the first such project from Porsche. In the 80s, such off-road 911s even won the Paris-Dakar rally. And modern concept cars are the forerunners of the production model – it will appear in the near future.
