Jannik Sinner et Alexander Zverev restent n°1 et 2 mondiaux. MAXPPP
This Monday, January 27, the ATP and WTA rankings were shaken up, reflecting an Australian Open full of twists and turns.
Jannik Sinner, winner of the Australian Open on Sunday, and Alexander Zverev, finalist, dominate the ATP ranking published on Monday and in which Novak Djokovic, forced to retire in the semi-finals, gains a place to 6th place. Carlos Alcaraz, eliminated in the quarter-finals by Djokovic, completes the world podium.
Finalist in 2024 in Melbourne but beaten in the second round this year, Daniil Medvedev loses two places (7th), while his Russian compatriot Andrey Rublev, eliminated in the first round, drops one step to 10th place.
Good move for Tommy Paul who gains two places thanks to his Australian quarter-final and reaches at 27 the best ranking of his career (9th). Ben Shelton also makes a nice progression of 6 places (14th) after reaching the last four in Australia.
The French No. 1 Ugo Humbert, beaten in the round of 16, loses a place (15th), while Arthur Fils gains two (19th) after his defeat in the third round against Humbert. Author of an exceptional run at 38 years old until his retirement in the round of 16, Gaël Monfils jumps nine places (32nd).
The first Grand Slam tournament of the season was very costly in terms of ranking for Arthur Cazaux and Adrian Mannarino who dropped out of the Top 100. Cazaux, beaten in the second round after reaching the round of 16 the previous year, fell 23 places to 101st and Mannarino, eliminated in the first round after reaching the round of 16 in 2024, fell 33 places to 108th.

Madison Keys, winner of the Australian Open on Saturday, returned to 7th place in the WTA rankings on Monday, jumping seven places in a world hierarchy still dominated by Aryna Sabalenka, the finalist in Melbourne. Keys had already reached this 7th place in the world, her best ranking to date, in 2016.
Behind Sabalenka, who was playing her third final in a row in Melbourne and had won the previous two, Iga Swiatek and Coco Gauff completed the podium. Elena Rybakina gains two places (5th) despite an early elimination in the round of 16 in Australia (beaten by Keys), while Paula Badosa (+2) returns to the Top 10 at 10th place after reaching the semi-finals of a Grand Slam tournament for the first time in her career.
On the French side, the first Grand Slam tournament caused the heavy falls of Caroline Garcia (-9 places to 76th) and Diane Parry (-20 places to 86th), with defeats in the first round. The French No. 1 Varvara Gracheva remains at 69th world ranking.
