A stack of newspapers
Postmedia Network said on Wednesday that nine of its city dailies would no longer be printed and delivered on Mondays beginning October 17.
Postmedia spokeswoman Phyllise Gelfand clarified that The Gazette of Montreal, the Ottawa Sun and Ottawa Citizen, the Edmonton Sun, the em>Edmonton Journal, the Calgary Sun, the Calgary Herald, The Province and the Vancouver Sun would all be affected by this decision.
She added that electronic versions of affected newspapers – a digital replica of the print edition – would still be published on Mondays and that the respective websites would still be updated with news articles and content.
Ms. Gelfand said Postmedia was making the change in an environment where readers' habits continue to change.
Postmedia has a robust digital offering and wants to focus on going where (its) readers are, a- she explained.
Ms Gelfand clarified that there would be no job cuts related to this company decision. .
