Whey (or whey protein) is a food supplement that comes in powder form to be mixed in water, milk, etc. It is supposed to develop muscle mass and reduce fat mass.

Metal in whey

Sold between December 31, 2024 and January 25, 2025, the product “Whey Protein Chocolate 30g” is recalled in all of France.

Sold by Decathlon stores as well as online, the protein packet reportedly contains a foreign body metallic.

The lot affected by this recall is numbered 2429700006 and has a reference number of 8805875. Its best before date is January 1, 2026.

“Risk of Injury”

The government website is calling on consumers who have purchased this affected protein packet to stop consuming it “due to the risk of injury and adverse effects following ingestion of this product”.

Consumers are invited to return it to the point of sale for an exchange or a refund.
