Russian President Vladimir Putin urged Russians to vote for amendments to the Constitution of the Russian Federation, which, according to him, will power is “effective and accountable”. Recall that the main purpose of these amendments is to preserve the power of Putin himself.
“We are voting for the country we work for and want to pass on to our children and grandchildren. I am sure each of you, taking such an important decision, think about their loved ones. Is based on the values that unite us, and that truth and justice, respect for human labor, people of older generations, is the family and taking care of children… Amendments to the basic law, in the case of your support and perpetuate these values and principles as the highest unconditional constitutional guarantees…”, — said the master of the Kremlin.
It is noteworthy that the video was recorded on the 1st of July, the main day of voting. Revealing was the venue for the recording of the video — pompous Rzhevskiy memorial to the “Soviet soldier”, which Putin has opened in conjunction with Lukashenko on 30 June.
Meanwhile, the head of Chechnya Ramzan Kadyrov has directly urged Russians to vote for Vladimir Putin “President for life”.
“Today, who can replace him? There is no such political leader on a global scale. We should be proud of”, — Kadyrov said at a meeting of the Republican operational headquarters for the fight against coronavirus.
Putin’s proposal on life sentence heard, but the demonstration was abandoned.
“Such a position (President-for-life — Ed) is not provided by the Constitution of Russia”, — said Putin’s press Secretary Dmitry Peskov.
Note that most of the poll (76%), which was held by the group * L in Russia, did not support the “reset” of the timing of President Vladimir Putin. The shares intend to vote “for” and “against” the amendment is almost the same — respectively 28% and 32%. The majority of respondents — 60% – said that they will take part in the vote, 15% do not plan to participate in, and 25% of respondents were undecided.
