Québec 2022 : nearly a quarter of registered voters voted in advance | Élections Québec 2022

The participation rate in the advance poll is close to 25%, a record.

Approximately a quarter of voters registered on the electoral list have already voted, according to figures provided by the DGEQ.

The popularity of advance voting is confirmed: nearly a quarter of voters registered on the electoral list have already voted, according to figures provided Friday morning by Elections Quebec.

The participation rate at advance polling stations (BVA) this year was 24.44%. Out of 6.29 million registered voters, 1.54 million people slipped their ballot into the ballot box. This is unheard of since at least 1998.

This record rate includes seven of the eight voting days scheduled for this year by Élections Québec, i.e. two days of advance voting (September 25 and 26) and five days of voting at the office of the returning officer (September 23, 24, 27, 28 and 29).

The eighth and final day of voting will take place on Monday 3 October. The highly anticipated results will be known in the evening.

The warning signs of the popularity of the BVA vote did not lie. On the morning of September 26, after the first day of advance voting, the turnout had already reached 12.57%. And it approached 23% the next day.

Special fact: 8 of the 10 ridings where this rate is the highest this year are located in the Capitale-Nationale and in Chaudière-Appalaches, including Louis-Hébert, who sits at the top of the list at 41.09%.

Conversely, it is in Ungava that the participation will have been the weakest: only 9.34% of voters in this Nord-du-Québec riding will have voted between September 23 and 29.

The Chief Electoral Officer is now preparing for October 3. Moreover, he is still looking for electoral personnel in seven ridings, namely in Mégantic, Mont-Royal–Outremont, D'Arcy-McGee, L'Assomption, Beauharnois, Hull and Pontiac.< /p>
