Christian Dubé, Minister of Health of Quebec

Quebec Health Minister Christian Dubé is expanding the 811 pediatric line to the entire province at a time when there is an increase in the circulation of respiratory viruses, which affect children.

“I am announcing today that line 811, which has been added for pediatric lines, will now be available everywhere in Quebec from now. »

— Christian Dubé, Quebec Minister of Health

I think parents will appreciate it, added Mr. Dubé.

Until x27; this service was now available in Greater Montreal, Outaouais and the Laurentians.

Minister Dubé made the announcement on Wednesday morning while meeting with the media to update on the emergency situation as the holidays approach.

In November, Mr. Dubé had already hinted that this line could be extended to the rest of Quebec.

In emergency crisis management mode, Minister Dubé indicated that the average occupancy rate was 120%.

“The holiday season is going to be difficult in our emergencies especially [as we approach parties] because we know that contacts will increase. »

Minister Dubé once again insisted on the importance of respecting public health guidelines.

For Mr. Dubé, we must do our part to help the personnel working in the emergency room.

It's already difficult in our emergencies […] because we know that there will be additional traffic following the holiday season.

The platform, initially set up for a fixed period, will be able to continue its activities after an agreement with union representatives from the health sector.

Minister Dubé also pointed out that during the month of December, we will have opened five nursing clinics specialized practitioners (IPS), which is higher than the two that had been promised by the new unit formed to respond to the crisis in hospitals.

Yes, it is difficult in emergencies at the moment, but we are able to slightly reduce the impact of the three viruses thanks to these initiatives, concluded Christian Dubé.
