Jane Fonda was once famous for her life-changing aerobics videos
Clothing giant H&M Group has chosen a new ambassador for its H&M Move sportswear collection. And they became Jane Fonda, the legendary actress, who at one time launched video cassettes with her aerobics lessons. Vogue writes about it.
The brand offers comfort and support across its range, encouraging a holistic approach to movement and a healthy lifestyle in sportswear that includes leggings, lightweight jackets and bras specifically designed for training and running. The collection will be available starting tomorrow.
Forty years ago Jane Fonda's “Exercises” was released on VHS. It quickly revolutionized home fitness and fashion.
“Exercise gear helps because it makes that time stand out from the rest of the day and makes it more meaningful!” Fonda wrote in her 1981 fitness volume of the same name.
Since then, the Oscar-winning actress and activist has never stopped exercising.
“Every day when I get out of the car, I thank myself for having strong hips and for working hard to keep them strong,” Fonda says in an interview.
This year, Jane Fonda turns 85, but she continues to work on herself and democratize fitness, promoting the theme that everyone can do it anywhere, if you wish.
“I like their philosophy of clothes for movement and not sportswear, because it's not about sports or sportswear. It's about moving so that your body is healthy and strong,” explains Fonda, who stars in H&M Move campaign.
Jane recalled in an interview that she stopped buying new clothes four years ago. She noted that people are now wasting too much and throwing away too much. But she agreed to work with H&M, because this brand is trying to recycle and become a truly sustainable brand.
“They're aiming to have 100% of their materials either recycled or sustainable by 2030 and zero by 2040. So I think that's a good thing.” , — said Fonda.
And the actress spoke about her diet, which allows her to stay in great shape.
“I sleep eight or nine hours every night. I eat quite healthy food. I don't eat much red meat, I try to eat less fish because the world is running out of fish.I eat vegetables.I eat salads.I eat fresh food.I just watch what I eat.But when I was in Italy and two and a half months, I ate ice cream and pasta every single day. I walk a lot and it helps,” said Fonda.
