In Malaysia, the rainy season triggered massive flooding that left thousands of people homeless. It is reported by Reuters.
Malaysian cities were flooded with muddy water after heavy rains. Brown water rushed into fields and streets, flooding cars and causing rivers to overflow their banks. People, in order to escape from the streams of water, move in boats and with the help of improvised means.
According to local authorities, in just three days of this week, the flood claimed the lives of two people.
Hundreds of shelters have already been created throughout the country for people who have been deprived of a roof over their heads by the elements.
The Department of Irrigation and Drainage has warned of more floods in the coming days as the rainy season, which runs from October to March, continues. Authorities have urged residents to evacuate if possible.
